Bel's Nest Log: Seasick kind of windy during
the night; M aerating nest 2:53:06am, she finally settles down & is
sleeping with head tucked 3:07:57; M pretty much sleeps the rest of the night
until she awakens at 5:50:58, tends to B10 & aerates some more; M settles
back down 5:57:25; M gets up 6:36:21 & so does B10, who sits up tall &
tries to bite M's beak.
S/C#1-M to Y-nook
6:36:49, hops to LB 6:36:59 & out 6:37:05; D in to LB 6:37:33, he walks
down LB & steps into nest 6:39:14; D in the pantry & B10 PS 6:39:33;
feeding 6:39:46; IR light off 6:43:28; still windy 6:57:32 & D is cuddled
w/baby; D out LSD 7:08:39, D in BD w/stk 7:12:17; D out LSD 7:13:38; can see D
fly by in background 7:14:52 before coming in BD w/stk 7:14:53; D back in the
pantry 7:17:20.

alerts 7:26:57 & D lands on LB 7:30:20; both alert 7:35:38 & 7:39:36; D

8:51:32, D in LSD w/coot 8:51:43 & D alerts (Approach Cam: Intruder seen
flying by nest just after D lands on nest, a few seconds later it appears that
M is chasing intruder).
S/C#4-D hops up
& wind blows him to right side of nest 9:17:20 as M comes in LSD w/stick
9:17:21, D to RB 9:19:08 & out 9:19:22; M eats coot foot 10:03:17; B10 PS
10:03:42, feeding 10:03:47; M stops feeding to watch something nearby 10:10:22;
wind catches M & tips her forward 10:19:01 as she moves to cover B10; M
gets up 10:56:47, flies out LSD 10:57:12, M lands on LB 10:59:41, M hops to
nest 11:00:11; B10 PS 11:00:26; M vocal, maybe calling for D 11:41:46 (and a
little bird climbs up the 11:00-branch); feeding 12:14:35.
S/C#5-D in to LB 12:25:56 & startled M
squeals, M finishes feeding then flies out LSD 12:29:18, D walks down branch
12:34:28, steps to nest 12:35:12; D eats 12:57:53; B10 PS 1:08:28, feeding
1:08:43.
S/C#6-M in BD w/fluff 1:39:22; M
puts fluff on B10, M & D spread fluff 1:39:48 and wind blows it on B10's
face 1:40:00, M steps on B10 1:40:13 & s/he sits up squeeing in protest, D
to LB 1:41:27 & out 1:41:34; B10 PS 1:41:52; gust of wind causes M to lean
2:21:00 & B10 didn't like it; B10 PS 2:26:06 then crawls back under M; M
nibbles in the pantry 2:39:11; M tries to feed B10 but h/she's not interested;
M preens 3:41:48; feeding 3:45:03; B10 PS 5:56:09 then feeding, B10 PS 6:13:02,
then more feeding.
S/C#7-D in BD w/stick
6:25:36 & a startled M squeals; M & D nibble around in the pantry
together; M out BD 6:38:14; D feeds B10 6:41:06; B10 PS 6:42:13; D out LSD
6:45:31; B10 moves a stick 6:46:52; D in FD w/fluff 6:50:22.
S/C#8-M in BD w/stick 6:51:58, M & D do a
little nestorizing with B10 stuck in the middle; D out BD 6:56:32; IR light on
7:03:41; M & B10 resting peacefully 8:44:00; noise (dumpster or metal
object) startles M 9:54:44pm.
