Bel's Nest Log: Per TNT/BEL - EARLY MORN: M gets up to preen 3:03:10am, rolls-n-fluffs, rouses to shake off the rain 3:06:36 settles back down 3:08:18; M hears Rocky & prepares to whack him 3:18:52 but he doesn't show himself, M goes back to sleep 3:25:57; M gets up 4:30:06, calls out to D 4:30:55 & he answers 4:3127, M PS's off the front of the nest 4:32:13 then M & D chatter, M snuggles back down 4:35:18; M up to roll-n-fluff 4:50:02, lays back down 4:51:28; Rocky runs up & down Cam 2 branch 5:08:28 & M does a half-hearted wing slap; M rolls-n-fluff 5:16:13, lays down 5:18:31. MORN: M wing slaps at Rocky 7:03:18 & he sails away off back branch, M calls out in frustration 7:03:22 & D answers; M crop drops 7:28:58; IR light off 7:34:06. Cam 1 reset 7:50am. S/C#1-D in to LB 7:53:07 & to nest; M to LB 7:53:55 & out 7:54:04. S/C#1-D in to LB 7:33:48, he flaps his wings & hops to nest 7:34:06; M gets up 7:34:14, hops over the eggs & hops up to LB 7:34:29, M out 7:34:39; D does a little fluff-n-roll & snuggles down 7:35:19. D vocal (calling to M? alerting?) 8:55:30. D vocal again 9:09:30 & M can be heard answering him. S/C #2-M in FD 9:16:52, D to LB 9:17:13 & out 9:17:25, M rolls/fluffs 9:18:20, and finally snuggles down 9:21:43. D lands on perch back behind Cam 2 branch 9:39:29, M & D chatter to each other 9:39:38; D leaves his perch 9:41:47 (flies low & to the right); D flies by behind nest 9:44:56, S/C#3-D in FD w/pinecone stick 9:45:07, M gets up 9:45:26, M out LSD 9:45:59, D shimmies down 9:46:34. S/C#4-M in FD 10:15:15, D gets up 10:15:29 & flies out LSD 10:16:30, M rolls/fluffs 10:17:25, lays down 10:18:23. D flies toward nest 10:35:24, S/C#5-D in LSD w/stick 10:35:27 & M tries to help with it, M chips softly then gets up 10:36:30, M out LSD 10:37:33, D does a quick egg roll and lays down 10:37:53. Cam 1 reset 11:17am. D calls out 12:39:20pm; S/C#6-M in FD 1:08:17, D gets up 1:08:30 & talks to M, D flies out LSD 1:087:53, M rolls-n-fluffs using wings for balance, snuggles down on eggs 1:11:41. D in to LB 3:05:43, to nest 3:05:46 & offers M a pine cone to get up but M just chirps at him; M won't get up so D hops to LB 3:07:39 & flies out 3:07:44. As of 4:40, it doesn't appear as if M has changed positions since D last left. S/C#7-M chatters as D flies in the FD 4:53:56; D coaxes M up w/sweet nothings & dinner (UFO) 4:54:25 (she stumbles a bit getting up), M slowly makes her way to the pantry 4:55:24 & begins to eat; D rolls-n-fluffs 4:55:44; M swallows pelt 4:58:20; M out LSD 4:58:59. Bel's Nest Log: S/C#1- D in to LB 7:25:23 both greet each other, M gets up 7:25:35 & flaps wings, M out LSD 7:26:17, D to nest 7:26:41, rolls eggs 7:26:48, snuggles down 7:27:05; IR light off 7:29:59; D calls M 9:16:59. S/C#2-D calls to M 11:25:31, D gets up 111:25:36 & flaps wings & calls again, M lands on 11 o'clock branch 11:25:46, D hovers to LB 11:25:49 still talking to M, D flies out 11:25:57, M to nest 11:26:40, M rolls-n-fluffs 11:27:34, lays down 11:29:19. Raining on & off, M's on the nest all afternoon; Cam 1 reset 5:24pm; M starts softly calling to D a few time (he must be nearby) 5:52:10; deer scamper by behind nest 6:06:35; IR light on 6:23:14 & 6:24:09pm. M hears Rocky, she goes from being sound asleep to wide awake, wing slapping a couple of times 9:33:09, M rolls eggs and then looks around, Rocky appears on a back branch (to the right of & behind the Cam 2 branch), he runs up & back down 9:34:55, M wing slaps again 9:35:47, M settles back down 9:37:23pm.

Bel's Nest Log: Rocky runs up C2 branch 4:52:27am, M gets ready to wingslap but Rocky quickly sails off; IR light off 7:25:14am; S/C#1-M gets up 7:37:29, flies out LSD 7:37:57, D in to LB 7:38:14, hops to nest 7:38:24, rolls eggs & snuggles down 7:38:50; D calls to M 9:26:50; S/C#2-M in to LB 9:45:17 & D chirps at her, D gets up 9:45:35, D to RB 9:45:48 & out 9:45:59, M to nest 9:46:12, rolls-n-fluffs 9:46:40, snuggles down 9:48:31. Ground Report per BEP-Dad came by at 3:30pm and went to perch branch and stared for 15 min or so then flew on. M gets up to stretch 5:30:33pm; M calls for D 5:31:37; M returns to bole to fluff-n-roll then settles down 5:36:29; M get s up 6:16:36; Flaps wings 6:17:03; snuggles back down 6:22:08; IR came on as cam was resetting 6:28pm. M stands up and wing slaps a few times (Rocky must be nearby) 8:02:32, she calls out her frustration 8:03:04 still standing & ready to whack Rocky if he shows himself; M rolls eggs 8:06:04 & lays back down 8:07:30; M chatters w/D 8:34:10pm & 9:57:48.

MORN: S/C#1 D in LSD w/fluff 7:40:44, M gets up 7:41:31 and hops to LB 7:42:02 & out 7:42:17 & D rolls eggs, snuggles down 7:42:52; S/C#2 M in FD w/fluff 9:28:29, both spread fluff, D gets up 9:31:41, D to RB 9:31:54, D chatters 9:31:58 then flies out 9:32:07. Cam reset (again) 10:59am. M spots something 11:45:48, vocally alerts 11:46:42, stands up 11:46:47 (still vocal), M fluff-n-rolls 11:48:03, lays back down 11:50:28; M wings slaps at a cardinal 12:23:54; M starts calling 12:32:51, D in FD with food (duck?) 12:33:18, M gets up 12:22:53 & moves over to pantry 12:34:08, M claims the food 12:34:55 & starts eating, D to LB 12:35:25 & out 12:35:53; M's done eating & moves over to fluff-n-roll 12:48:00, lays back down 12:49:45; D in to LB w/fluff 1:51:09, hops to nest 1:51:11, M takes fluff & spreads it; D putters around w/sticks but M doesn't get up so D flies out FD 12:57:32.

Our favorite little grass thief is back 10:34:11pm, scampering around the nest & branches.

Bel's Nest Log: D in to LB 7:00:50am, to nest 7:01:22 & does a little beak-plowing; IR light off 7:02:28; D to RB 7:02:58 & out 7:03:08; D in FD w/large stk 7:56:07; D out from mid-nest 8:00:28; Cam 1 reset 8:04; Cam 2 - M in FD 8:04:24; M calls out to D 8:45:24 & 8:45:41; D in BD 9:04:26; D lays down 9:09:56; M out BD 9:22:42; D gets up 9:46:27 & turns around, lays back down 9:46:35; D gets up again 10:37:15; D lays back down 10:41:24; D gets up 10:56:04 & flies out BD 10:56:22; Cam 1 reset 11:19:07am; D in BD 5:15:52pm; D lays down 5:18:08pm; D stands up 5:48:26; D out BD 5:49:31; IR light on 6:01:48pm. Rocky 7:27:27 - 7:30:27pm. Rocky peeks out from under the Y-branch, disappears briefly, then goes to the nest 9:50:47.

Rocky scampers onto the nest from the Y-nook area 6:04:01, to the LB then out of view at the Cam Pole 6:04:07.

AFTERNOON: M in FD 2:24:00pm; D in FD w/stick 2:24:18 & stick war ensues; D out BD 2:29:21; D in FD w/stick 2:33:22 & M tries to help; mild snipping btwn M & D 2:34:28? & 2:35:15 (lol); M works on a different stick since D's miffed at her for trying to help with his 2:35:43; D gets back to moving sticks 2:50:40 & nips at M 2:51:00; M tries to help 2:52:12 & Dad gives her attitude (which she ignores); D out BD 3:04:16; D in BD with nice branch 3:08:24; D rouses 3:17:13; D out BD 3:18:14; M out BD 4:48:59pm.

Tuesday - August 29, 2017 Rocky

Rocky was out and about early this morning. He scampered up the back right limb at 5:29am, and then out onto the nest at 5:30am. He left the same way he came in - up the back right limb and out of sight at 5:36am.

Monday - August 28, 2017

Dad flew in the front door at 7:02am with a twig; he was sporting a feather in his nare. After looking around for a few minutes and losing a fluffy feather, he took off out the back door at 7:05:45am. Rocky on the nest 10:04:32pm through 10:19:08pm.
